How To Share Your Photos and Videos With Friends

In today’s world, we constantly capture memories through photos and videos on our smartphones. Whether you’re an iPhone or Android user, sharing your favorite photos has become pretty easy.

Sharing Photos/Videos from iPhone

On your iPhone, the Photos app makes it simple to share single or multiple photos and videos right from your library:

  • Open Photos and go to the photo/video you want to share.
  • Tap the Share icon (square with up arrow).
  • A menu will appear with multiple share options like Message, Mail, AirDrop, social apps and more.
  • Tap the destination to send to. You can add a message if desired.
  • Tap Send.

To share multiple photos/videos at once:

  • In Photos, open an album or navigate until you see photos in a “tiled view” tap “Select” in the top right corner and then tap the images/clips you would like to send.
  • Tap the Share icon in the bottom right corner.
  • Pick your share destination.
  • Added bonus - you can share entire albums this way too!

Sharing Photos/Videos from Android

On Android devices, you’ll use the Share function to start sharing from your Gallery app:

  • Open Gallery/Photos and go to the photo/video.
  • Tap the Share icon (three connected dots).
  • Select which app/contact you want to share it with.
  • The photo/video will automatically attach itself.
  • Add a caption if you want, then tap Send.

For multiple items from your Android Gallery:

  • Tap and hold on one photo/video to select it.
  • Then tap additional files to add them to your selection.
  • Hit Share and choose your destination.

Sharing Made Easy

Both iOS and Android also provide direct share buttons within apps like your camera, social media apps, messaging apps and more. This allows you to share a new photo or video instantly by just tapping the app’s built-in share button.

Additionally, you can use cloud storage services like Google Photos or iCloud to seamlessly sync and share entire photo/video libraries across all your devices.

Here’s how to share photos from Google Photos:

Sharing Photos from Google Photos on iPhone:

  • Open the Google Photos app and go to the photo(s) you want to share.
    • To select more than one photo, press and hold the first image until you see a check mark appear in the top left corner. Continue selecting more photos by tapping.
  • Tap the Share icon (square with up arrow).
  • You'll see various share options like Messages, Mail, Notes, Instagram, etc.
  • Tap on the app where you want to share the photo(s).
  • This will attach the photo(s) in that app for sharing. Add any text and tap Send.

Sharing Photos from Google Photos on Android:

  • Open Google Photos and select the photo(s) to share by tapping on them.
  • Tap the Share icon (three connected dots).
  • Select which app or contact you want to share with.
  • The photo(s) will automatically attach themselves.
  • Add a caption if desired, then tap Share.

The key benefit is Google Photos syncs your photo library across all your devices. So sharing becomes seamless no matter what phone or tablet you're using at that moment.

With just a few taps, you can quickly share those captured memories from your smartphone’s camera roll or gallery with friends, family near and far.
